The global landscape is undergoing profound and complex transformations. Trends such as frequent conflicts of various types, the turbulent evolution of globalization, rapid advancements in science and technology, and accelerated economic and social transformations across nations are exerting significant impacts on international political, economic, security, and social environments. As China becomes increasingly globalized and interconnected with the world, its journey toward shared development with other nations presents both opportunities and a diverse array of risks and challenges.

Guided by the principle of better integrating development and security, Center for Overseas Development and Security Studies (CODSS) is committed to addressing national strategic priorities, closely monitoring global dynamics, and adopting a problem-solving approach. We strive to enhance research and responses to evolving environments, support national and societal decision-making, and actively contribute to the expansion and protection of China's overseas interests.
