Center for Social and Economic Studies (CSES), as a research division of China Reform Forum, commits to extensive study of the economy and social development of China and the world. CSES research covers the fields of energy, environmental protection, finance, trade, education, health, population and aging society, social security and welfare, and other issues closely associated with economic and social development.

CSES periodically conducts research on projects about hot social issues by experts from social and economic fields, submitting timely and objective research reports, propose detailed solutions, and publish research products. CSES also actively engages in conducting international exchanges, organizing overseas visiting scholars, encouraging exchanges among institutions and promoting research cooperation.
